Today on 31st October afternoon, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi dedicated Statue of Unity, world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
PM Modi was accompanied by Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, Dy CM Nitin Patel, BJP President Amit Shah, Gujarat Governor OP Kohli, Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala and other dignitaries.
PM addressed the nation and remember role of Sardar Patel in uniting princely states of India and his ideology.
PM said on the banks of the Narmada stands the majestic statue of a great man, who devoted his entire life towards nation building. It was an absolute honour to dedicate the Statue of Unity to the nation. We are grateful to Sardar Patel for all that he did for India.Building of the Statue of Unity was a spectacular mass movement. I salute the lakhs of hardworking farmers across India who donated their tools and portions of the soil that were used to build this Statue. I appreciate all those who worked tirelessly to build this Statue.
Sardar Patel integrated and unified India, in letter and spirit. He was clear that after 15th August 1947, India would never be bound by the chains of colonialism
The Statue of Unity illustrates the spirit of New India. Its colossal height is a reminder of the colossal skills and aspirations of our Yuva Shakti.
We are doing everything possible to turn Sardar Patel’s vision into a reality and ensure a good quality life for our fellow Indians.
