The best brand ambassadors for any University, are its alumni. To celebrate their day of accomplishments and achievements, GLS University held its 7th Convocation on Dec 16, 2023. It was a moment of immense pride for the graduating batch as it gave them a sense of achievement and a sense of responsibility towards fulfilling further commitments.
Veteran actor and member of Lok Sabha, Smt. Hema Malini graced this ceremonious event as the Chief Guest. She commended the contribution of GLS University in the field of education and accentuated the importance of knowledge as a key resource in today’s times. She also congratulated the graduating batch and advised them to keep aspiring for higher goals in life.
The event was also graced by Smt. Smita Shastri, a renowned and celebrated Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi Artist and Mentor. She emphasized the common aspects between classical dance and professional skills and inspired the graduating batch to be the change they wish to see in the world.
The ceremony was presided by Shri Sudhir Nanavati, President, of GLS University. He declared the convocation open. In his welcome address, he congratulated the convocating batch for their achievements so far and emphasized on how the right education is a key to transform their life and career. He advised the graduating batch to challenge themselves, embrace rejection and to not be discouraged by failures.
Shri Pankaj Patel, President, of Gujarat Law Society and Managing Director and Chairman, Zydus Lifesciences Ltd. advised the convocating students to learn from every mistake, because every experience and particularly tough ones, teach you and force you into being stronger. He urged the students to take every failure in their stride, aim for a higher goal and contribute back to society.
The ceremony also witnessed the presence of highly acclaimed singer and musician Shri Anup Jalota. Dr. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director, GLS University appraised his exemplary work and GLS University awarded the honorary doctorate degree to Shri Anup Jalota in the field of Indian Art and Music.
In all, 3602 students graduated, 35 meritorious students were felicitated with Gold and Silver Medals as well as 36 ‘Best Student’ awards were given in the Faculty of Law, Computer Applications & IT, Computer Technology, Management, Commerce, Business Administration and Design and 15 Doctoral students awarded with Ph.D. Degree.
The convocation was declared closed by Shri Sudhir Nanavati. It marked an unforgettable day in the lives of the graduating batch, their parents and everyone at GLS University.
