Various programmes in Ahmedabad on 608th foundation Day
Today Ahmedabad is celebrating 608th foundation Day.
To commemorate the occasion various programmes by AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation were organized. Today a flag was hoisted at Manek Burj.
Cleanliness Drive was carried out in the city, which was supported by Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi.
A team led by Ahmedabad Mayor Guatam Shah offered prayers and took blessings at legendary saint Maneknath Baba temple in Manekchowk.
He also paid flower tribute to to Swatantryaveer Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar a freedom fighter, lawyer, poet and writer on his death anniversary at Bhadra.
14 architectural monuments of Ahmedabad city including Sarkhej Roja, Ellis Bridge etc were decorated.
600 years back Ahmedabad city was established by Ahmed Shah Badshah. It had names like Ashavalli,Ashvali, Jardabad and Karnavati.
