Vadodra : The longest flyover in Fatehgunj opened for public

Today in Vadodara, the longest flyover built in Fatehgunj locality was inaugurated on the occasion of the birthday of ex prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. On yesterday Bharat Dangar, Vadodara Mayor said that “The inauguration of the flyover would commemorate birthday of Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji. The flyover would provide great relief to the people from the problem of traffic jams, in the city of Vadodara”. He added “The flyover would bring an end to the ordeal of over two years, that the citizens had been facing while commuting through Fatehgunj area in the city, which is an important hub joining city’s civil airport Harni and the Vadodara railway station,” Saurabh Patel, Gujarat Finance Minister had laid the foundation stone of the flyover in October, 2013. He said “This flyover is the second one constructed on Gaurav Path christened as Sayaji Path from the Airport Circle to Akshar Chowk. Earlier, the Amitnagar flyover was constructed on the route.” HS Patel Vadodara Municipal Commissioner said that the over 1-km-long flyover has been built at a cost of Rs 62.98 crore. The beautification work under the flyover would be finished soon. A part of the space under the flyover would be consumed for parking, he said. Dangar also told that the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has planned to construct the state’s longest flyover in the city, from Genda Circle to Old Padra Road. He said it would be 3.4 km long. At least six flyovers and two rail-over bridges have been constructed in the city in the last four years.
