Today in Vadodara, on NH 8 near Ranoli in a car accident two persons were killed as car fell 30 feet down the under construction bridge. As per information under construction bridge was kept open at the other end which had uncovered gap of about 70 foot. Car driver and other person were killed on the spot as speeding car feel from the bridge 30 feet down. 108 Ambulance and fire brigade were called at site. Deadbodies were taken out with lot of difficulties as top of the car was crushed completely. Two victims were found to be residents of Gandhinagar.
As a reason for accident it is learnt that the cotractor IRB had not kept barricade or obstruction to stop or divert vehicle at open end of the bridge to vehicle rider make aware. People had expressed anger over contractor’s not keep barricade. Later, contractor had kept the barricade.
