Today, Meteorological Department has sounded alert in Nainital, Chamoli, Champawat, Uttarkashi and the state capital Dehradun of Uttarakhand state. Rains have lashed heavily for past 10 days. Six people died due to landslide in the state. Two more were injured in landslide of Pangla village of Pithoragarh district.Eight people were buried under the debris from a mountain in Tawaghat area of Pangla village of Dharchula tehsil this afternoon,as per district magistrate .The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, but one of them succumbed to injuries on the way, police were trying to identify the dead.
Rescue opeartions were carried out by a joint team of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
