UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova visits Heritage city of Ahmedabad
Today In Ahmedabad, UNESCO director general, Irina Bokova visits India’s first heritage site.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani met UNESCO Director General and took her around to heritage sites in the city. Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel was also at the site.
Also, Ahmedabad Mayor Gautam Shah met UNESCO representative.

Recently, Ahmedabad was listed in World heritage site.
Ahmedabad declared as the UNESCO World Heritage City
Today history city of Ahmedabad was declared as the UNESCO World Heritage City at the 41st session of the World Heritage Committee.
Ahmedabad was named heritage City by UNESCO First heritage city of the Country.
Ahmedabad has 54 heritage Monuments/sites in the city, 11 across the district and 4 Monuments are protected by the Directorate of Archaeology, Govt. of Gujarat.
In Ahmedabad, Heritage walk is held every year by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The Walk commences from the early 19th century Swaminarayan temple Kalupur, encompasses 20 main spots besides numerous areas and aspects of the old city and concludes at the famous 15th century Jama Masjid.
Ahmedabad city finding place in UNESCO World Heritage City is a proud moment for localites.
