Two HMPV cases In India: In Gujarat and Karnataka ; Health Minister says no need to panic right now

Today immediately after the Union Health Ministry confirmed of two cases of HMPV (Human Metapneumovirus) reported in Karnataka state and another one reported in Gujarat state. This is the first case of HMPV in Gujarat as the virus has been detected in a 2-month-old infant. The patient has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment in Chandkheda area of Ahmedabad. Reacting on HMPV Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel sharing details of the patient said that SOPs will be issued as there is no need to panic right now. Minister Patel said that in a 2 months old baby came from Rajasthan infection was found of the virus, who was admitted to the hospital. There is no advisory from central health ministry but dos and donots of Corona Virus are applicable. Hospitals have been instructed to purchase RTPC kits immediately. As a precaution people should frequently wash hands and keep away from infected person.
