Textile traders protest against GST by stripping off cloths in Surat
Today in Surat city, Textile traders continue their protest against GST Goods and Service Tax by stripping off cloths.
A big rally by textile traders was taken out on Ring Road, in which thousands of traders took part.
The Rally will pass from Salasar and proceed further upto Sahara Darwaja. Scenes of traffic jam were created due to Textile Traders Rally.
Textile traders of Surat have been protesting against GST imposed by government effective from 1st July.
Traders demand that instead of imposing GST at various levels, it may implement on purchase of yarn only. Many traders are less qualified, hence they will face difficulty in filing tax returns. They demanded rebate and relief in filing tax returns too.
Yesterday Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had a meeting with Textile traders of Surat, which has not much effective as traders today continued their protest against GST.
Tight security along Ring Road in Surat is imposed by deploying 300 police personnel.
The incident is getting political milage, as textile traders have approach Congress for solution to the issue.
