Today Gujarat Congress Leader of Opposition Amit Chavda in front of media asked why enquiry is not conducted in Rs 10 crores scam of Saraswati Sadhna Yojana for purchase of 1.70 lakh bicycles. LOP said that Gujarat government including CMO and a few ministers are involved in Bicycle scams worths crores of rupees. EQDC Laboratory report on quality was ignored, objections/queries of Indentors were ignored. Quality and sepcifications of bicycles were done away with to place workorder on favourite party and sub standard bicycles were purchased.
Presently bicycles purchased to be given to 3 lakh 9th class students are rusting. These bicycles are given to girl students coming in rural area from far away places. LOP held a press conference on 16th July and demanded enquiry in the matter from chief minister, today after 2 weeks no action has been taken. It looks some ministers are being safeguarded in the entire scam.
