Telangana to be 29th state of India; midnight celebrations planned

Telangana is UPA legacy. From tonight, Telangana will be officially declared as 29th state of India. K Chandrasekhar Rao will take oath as new Chief Minister of Telangana on Monday. It got different statehood after long political battle.

Across 150 locations just in Hyderabad city, the plan is to have cultural events, Hyderabadi biryani and sweets. It will be distributed free of cost to welcome the golden hour.
“Lots of people have sacrificed their life, then and also now, for achieving Telangana. Now the challenge for the new government of KCR is to take everyone along, so they feel they are a party to the development of Telangana,” he says.

The face of KCR, the man who will be the first chief minister of Telangana, all over posters and hoardings are on display in the city.

It is as though Hyderabad has turned into a Pink City. The Telangana Rashtra Samiti has been smart in dressing up the city in the party’s colours to claim credit for the birth of India’s 29th state.

KCR will take oath of office at 8:15 am on Monday at Raj Bhavan, with small cabinet ministry .
