Today political opposition parties meeting held in Bengaluru agreed to call their alliance INDIA for Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance. “Earlier we were called UPA. Leaders of 26 parties agreed on a new name for our alliance, INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance),” said Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Earlier today, in his inaugural address on the second day of the key Opposition meeting, Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Our intention in this meeting is not to gain power for ourselves. It is to protect our Constitution, democracy, secularism and social justice”. He admitted to differences among opposition parties at the state level but noted that these are not ideological.
