Ahmedabad, July 25, 2023: Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, the first of its kind university in India committed to promoting startups, on Thursday announced that it will soon offer deferred placements for upto three years to its students. This means students who graduate from the varsity can avail the advantage of campus placements for upto three years after they graduate from the varsity. The initiative will be applicable with effect from the current academic year i.e. 2023-24, according to senior university officials.
Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University is the first university in India which is dedicated to nurturing and promoting startups. Currently, some 23 startups are incubated at the varsity.
So far, some 3,500 students are studying at the Swarnim Startup & Innovation university. The decision was taken in the wake of feedback from the varsity’s students.
This initiative was taken in light of the feedback sent across by students who have graduated in the past from the university. Many a times, the students’ startups don’t take off as expected and therefore, many students are left without a job opportunity. While Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University is fully committed to nurturing student startups, mentoring them from idea to scaling up stage, it is also important to note the constant changes in market dynamics and that not all startups may be able to sustain. However, the goal of the university is not just to encourage startups and nurture job creators but also ensure that students get placed in organisations and begin their careers. Which is why Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University has decided to launch this initiative of deferred placements. This will enable students who have graduated from the varsity to appear for campus placements for three years. This will also give them a reasonable window of opportunity to further their careers and gain professional expertise before getting back to their entrepreneurial ventures.
The Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University is a knowledge hub where disciplines like Engineering, Architecture, Design, Science, Management, Paramedical, Agriculture among other streams are taught with value enhancement through innovation, startup, and entrepreneurship. In the last academic year, 1,224 students graduated from the varsity. Till date, the varsity has supported at least 120 startups in the areas of agriculture, healthcare, green energy, IT Services, Design and data management, among others.
