Swarrnim Startup Conclave 2023 successfully concludes on July 29

Ahmedabad, July 31, 2023: The Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, the first of its kind university in India committed to support startups, successfully hosted the Swarrnim Startup Conclave 2023 on July 29 at the varsity campus in Gandhinagar. Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University is the first university in India which is dedicated to nurturing and promoting startups. This year’s theme of the event was on Women Entrepreneurship – EntrepreeNAARI, for which more than 31 startups from different universities participated.

The conclave brought together a diverse group of entrepreneurs, investors, and faculty members of Swarrnim, making it a resounding success.

Speakers including Dr. Twinkal Patel, a doctor and social entrepreneur, Mr Utsav Parmar (IIS), Motivational speaker and Deputy Director of  Doordarshan and Ms Piyalee Chattopadhyay, an angel investor graced the occasion and their valuable insights with the audience.

One of the highlights of the conclave was the Startup Pitch Competition, where startup founders showcased their ideas and innovations. The esteemed panel of judges had a challenging task in selecting the winners among the pool of innovative ventures.

In the opening remarks, Mrs Nikita Jain, MD, Global Entrepreneurship Cell at Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, spoke about the journey of forming the women entrepreneurship cell at the university. “Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University is committed to supporting aspiring entrepreneurs and empowering them to build a robust startup ecosystem,” she said.

The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Kavita Kashtriya, Dean Academics, Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University. She gave remarkable speech on metamorphosis of technologies and consumer preference. She also gave the example of how Malvika Hegde, CEO of Café Coffee Day turned around the brand.

During her address, Dr Twinkal Patel, doctor and social entrepreneur, spoke on the formula of building a successful startup i.e. with willpower and clarity. Appreciating the multitasking abilities of women, she also touched upon issues of gender equality and importance of mental health.

The conclave also provided a rich platform for startup owners, investors and mentors to network and forge valuable connections with potential investors, mentors, and industry veterans.

Shri Utsav Parmar (IIS), Deputy Director of Doordarshan, talked about different schemes of government of India for Startups such as Startup India and Mudra Yojana.

Ms. Piyalee Chattopadhyay, an angel investor and Startup ecosystem enabler, addressed the audience on survival of Startups, market penetration and growth opportunities.

Startups which bagged awards include Hexatron which emerged as the winner of Swarrnim Startup Conclave; Kali Medtech which won the Entreprennari Award and Mooropan, which bagged the best startup award.

The success of the Swarrnim Startup Conclave reaffirms the region’s potential as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
