Ahmedabad, January 25, 2024: The Training and Placement Department of Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University on Wednesday organised a seminar for guiding students for preparations for civil services examination. Students of all the departments of the university participated in the seminar. Ms. Neepa Manocha, who secured an All India Rank – 144, in her UPSC examination in 2022, was invited as a guest speaker for the seminar held at the university campus.
Some 109 students participated in the hour-long seminar and gained important insights about the event. The seminar was organised with a view to create awareness among students about the civil services exams and guiding them about the preparation of these exams.
Mr Vijayant Kumar, Director, Training and Placement, Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, along with faculty coordinators, Mr Shubham Gupta, Mr Prithvi Mohan, Mrs Nidhi Chhatbar, Mrs Kruti Shah and Ms Devanshi Mehta, remained present as the speakers for the event.
During her address, Ms Neepa Manocha shared her own experiences and learnings from her perseverance for the civil services exams.
“The preparations for UPSC exams require a single-minded focus and dedication but most importantly discipline. It is important to have a conducive environment to study and therefore, the support of family is extremely crucial. Cracking the UPSC examination is the combination of passion and smartness on part of the aspirant, and one must keep this in mind at all levels of preparation as well as taking exams at different stages,” Ms Manocha explained to the students and faculty members.
The Civil Services Exams give an opportunity to candidates to work in bureaucratic roles on government postings, and one is actively involved in social affairs of the designated department and also in policymaking and crucial decision making alongside the government.
Overall, the session proved to be very fruitful and informative for students, who made it interactive by raising important questions and doubts they needed to clarify.
