Today in Surat, swami Radha Raman of Swaminarayan temple was produced before Surat sessions court in Rs 1.26 crores fake notes case. Five were arrested by Surat police out which 4 accused were produced before sessions court and raid was granted by court to investigate them. 1 person is a wanted criminal.
Surat crime branch seized 5,013 fake currency notes in denomination of Rs 2,000. As far as modes operandi is concerned , color xerox machine and laser printer were used and transferred them using cloth bag in a Prasad Box through two sons of a person named Pravin. They used to travel by train and private vehicle.
Surat Crime Branch DCP Rahul Patel briefed a press conference and told about facts and findings. Ring leader Pravin Chopra, his son Kalu, his friend Mohan Vaghurde, Pratik Chodvadia and swami Radha Raman were arrested by police. Pravin and his second son Pradip Chopra fled so they were declared as absconders. Remand was obtained on 11 points by Crime Branch team. Session court granted remand upto 28 November. Eleven points include how link of the sacndal goes upto Ambav village in Kheda, where from machine was brought, where notes were supplied. Swami Radha Raman is a prime accused.
