Today Surat City SOG has successfully cracked down on counterfeit currency in the Puna Gam area.
Police have seized fake notes worth ₹9,000 in denominations of ₹500. While exchanging notes at a vegetable market and pan parlor, SOG team arrested Vijay Chauhan and Suresh Lathidia, who were working in Catering service. Surat SOG team seized cash of Rs 1 lakh, 3 mobiles and fake notes from the accused.
“Mawa”code word was used for exchange of fake currency notes.
