Surat Police to seek custody of Jain monk for potency test
Today in Surat, in the case of alleged rape by Jain monk Digambar Acharya Shantisagar , who was taken to new civil hospital at 11 am for Medical, Potency, Semen and DNA tests. Also, blood samples of girl were taken for profile preparation.
Custody of monk was taken from Lajpore Sub jail. Police has also inspected the site where alleged rape happened.
Surat: Jain monk says we had physical relation with mutual consent
Yesterday in Surat at Nanpura area Jain monk Acharya Shantisagar was booked for rape charges.
The incident happened at Jain Digambar temple in Nanpura area.
Today monk making counter allegations said to doctor that We had physical relation with mutual consent, while doctor was recording statement after his medical examination.
They had developed physical relation for the first time on 1st October said Monk, about which doctor made observation in MLC Medico Legal Case.
The victim girl was taken for medical examination too.
Monk said that he has been knowing the girl for past 6 months and she used to come to our temple with her parents.
Surat: Jain monk arrested on alleged rape charges
In Surat, in case of Girl raped by Jain monk, police’s suspicious activity raising questions.
19 year old victim girl was allegedly rape by 45 year Jain monk Digambar Acharya Shantisagar in athwalines area.
After complaint of rape by Girl, yesterday evening at 8 pm monk was formally arrested by Athwalines police. Later in the evening, monk was produced at residence of the judge but request for remand was made by the police.
Monk was sent to civil hospital. As per medical examination the girl has confirmed that she had been raped.
On October 1, the girl, her brother and parents had gone to seek his blessings. The Acharya allegedly convinced them to stay back for the chanting of mantras. Then he allegedly took the girl to another room, on pretext of performing puja and raped her.
Further investigation is going on.
