Recently in Surat city, problem of contaminated water in Harinagar area has come up. For nearly past 15 days, dirty water is supplied to residents at 5 O’clock in the morning.
The water is so dirty that it smells very bad and even after filtering insects are found in the water. Even, boiling water does not help, it still gives bad smell. Residents are fed up with dirty drinking water, which causes them problems like gastroenteritis.
SMC Surat Municipal Corporation authorities just visited the place once and collected water sample. Still problem in the area persists.
In 15 days due to contaminated water 7 people have died, as per sources.
