Supreme Court’s notice to Salman Khan in hit-and-run case based on Maharashtra govt plea

Today in a 2002 hit-and-run case the Supreme Court  issued a notice to actor Salman Khan based on Maharashtra government’s appeal against his acquittal. A bench of justices JS Khehar and C Nagappan said that it would be a much better way out if the supreme court decided the issue once and for all. The government of Maharashtra through attorney general Mukul Rohatgi, had told the court earlier that the high court verdict acquitting him was perverse and improper. He argued that the high court considered the evidence of a driver who came to fore after a gap of 13 years.
