Supreme Court seeks report from Center on rescue and relief measures in J&K floods

Today, Supreme Court asked Centre to provide report on relief and rescue measures  taken to rehabilitate  worst affected people of floods in Jammu and Kashmir. Court  directed  Centre to consider suggestion of forming unified agency for coordinating rescue operations in J&K. Attorney General, appearing for  Center informed court that a committee headed by Prime Minister  is monitoring and coordinating rescue efforts, adding that armed forces’ operations is in full swing in J&K.

Court directed Centre to act in coordination with state government to put in urgent efforts for making functional constitutional offices like the J&K High Court. Supreme Court granted time till monday to Center.
