Ahmedabad City police have banned all New Year 2021 celebrations in strict compliance to night curfew. Citizens usually welcome new year at 12 midnight on the 31st December but this year the new year will not be celebrated due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic in India. In addition, Ahmeabad police will enforce teh curfew comes into force from 9 pm onwards. In previous years, people celebrate December 31 with great rejoicing, but in current situation, the police has banned all New Year’s DJ parties and all other celebrations.
Police have also held a meeting with all the party plots and organizers on SG Highway and informed that no party or celebration will be organized this year. The police department has also informed that legal action will be taken if the rules are violated under provisions of Curfew Violation. No celebrations will be held on SG Highway and as well as CG Road. In Ahmedabad, on 31st December 31, drunkards are being checked with a breath analyzer till now. But due to Coronavirus pandemic, this time police will send the suspects directly for medical treatment and blood samples will be collected of suspects. Legal action will be taken if alcohol or any intoxicant is consumed by Citizens warned Ahmedabad DCP Deputy Commissioner of Police Harshad Patel in a press conference.
In Ahmedabad, preparations by police have been completed for 31st December security related arrangements. This time, police will take strict action against Coronavirus pandemic 7 DCPs Deputy Commissioner of Police, 14 ACPs Assistant Commissioner of Police, 50 PIs Police Inspector, 100 PSIs Police Sub-Inspector and about 3500 police constables will be deployed.
All those arrested after 9 pm will undergo a medical examination. Police will conduct surprise checking in a private place such as farmhouse, weekend house and party plots along periphery of Ahmedabad city and arrest people holding night parties secretly. The declaration will have to be followed even during the day and action will be taken if more people gather. 28 entry points of Ahmedabad have been identified by the police and will be investigated thoroughly.
