Today during Budget session of Gujarat Assembly, BJP heavily criticized over damaging remarks made in Question Hour by Opposition Leader Paresh Dhanani on Statue of Unity of Sardar Patel. Dhanani’s statement of Statue of Unity being made up of scrap iron took Assembly by strome.
After ruckus in Assembly both ruling and opposition leaders had a confrontation and opposition shouted slogans of Chowkidar Chor Hai. Congress leaders staged walk out from Assembly in support of Dhanani.
After protest in Assembly, a meeting was called by the speaker which was attended by opposition leaders including Shailesh Parmar, Punjabhai Vansh, Virji Thummar, state home minister Pradipsinh Jadeja, Bhuepndrasinh Chudasama and Nitin Patel. Speaker warned and compelled that no senior leaders from both the sides will not be insulted. Finally Question Hour was ended. Speaker told opposition leader Dhanani to take back his words. Assembly session was adjourned and Dhanani was suspended for a day.
