Sri Lanka Tourism Board well prepared to Welcome Indian tourists; Gujarat Media team explores

Special Tours organized for Chennai and Gujarat media representatives

Tour and Travel agents also extended special invitation to Colombo, Sri Lanka

October 18, 2024 : Recently in a get togather at famous Taj Samudra of Colombo, a team of five senior officers of the Sri Lanka Tourism Board hosted an experience sharing and concluding session of the Fame Tour organized during 13 to 18 October for Gujarat Media at friendly lunch at the hotel. In this 5-days long tour organized by the Sri Lanka Tourism Board, Gujarat Media friends were kept in 5 star hotels in cities like Negambo, Dambulla, Kandy, and Colombo.

As an excursion Hindu temples, Buddhist temples of Kandy, Sigiriya UNESCO World Heritage rock site, rural experience, tea factory,Dambulla Cricket Stadium, Sabji Market were shown. Also visited amazing and scenic places of Colombo City Tour.

Cultural Programme was organized by the Kandyan Cultural Centre in Kandy. Kandyan Cultural Centre is the first Cultural Dance Show of its kind to be established in Sri Lanka. It is a stimulating Sri Lankan Arts, Dance & Cultural Heritage Show that is a must see for any visitor who visits the historic city of Kandy. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a captive breeding and conservation institute for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village, 13 km northeast of Kegalle town in Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world.

In the program Sri Lanka Convention Bureau Chairman Mr. Dhira Hettiarachi, present General Manager Ms. Achini Dandunage, Marketing Manager, Ms. Malkanthi Velikala and Assistant Manager Mr. Sharon Wijesingha greeted the Gujarat media friends and Strategic Media Services Officer Mr. Subhojit Sen. He presented nice books to the officers with an introduction of Gujarat Media. In the end thanksgiving ceremony was done with the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda. The evening was a memorable one with stories of wonderful experiences of the tour and created a unique bridge between the Sri Lankan and Gujarat provinces.

In a proud moment for the Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Skyline, Rtn. Daxesh Raval, an esteemed member of the club, visited Colombo, Sri Lanka, as part of a special delegation. The trip, was organized by Sri Lanka Tourism and attended by media and Rotary members from Ahmedabad, included an important meeting with the Rotary Club of Colombo, where Rtn. Daxesh Raval was warmly welcomed. During the exchange, Rtn. Rawal presented the official Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Skyline flag to the Colombo club members, symbolizing the deepening of international fellowship between the two countries.

Gujarat media also felt that Sri Lanka is ready for tourism, it welcomes tourists with a big warm smile, pays special attention to Vegetarian food in five star hotels, whether it is a nature or sea, adventure or art, culture, religious places, nightlife , Sri Lanka is truly an intense experience .
