South Gujarat and Saurashtra receive heavy rain in fresh spell

Rain  were Scattered from Gujarat  and Madhya Pradesh to Odisha, West Bengal & North Andhra Pradesh into Tuesday. Rain, some heavy, from West Maharashtra to Karnataka through Thursday.

A low will produce rain, some heavy, from Uttar Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh to West Bengal and Odisha Wed into Saturday.

In Gir Somnath, following heavy rain, Hiran-2 dam overflows, 5 gates opened upto 4 feet. Heavy rains over the southern districts such as Surat, Valsad, Navsari, Dwarka, Porbandar, Gandhinagar, Junagadh, and Narmada today and tomorrow.

Bhavnagar records 115 mm rain, Porbandar 90 mm, more showers likely in Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Surat. In just a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Bhavnagar has recorded 115 mm rainfall, followed by Porbandar 90 mm.

In Khambha of Saurashtra, 2 inches of rain was received in 1 hour in a rain. In Una from Gagada river dead body of a young man was found after 17 hours.

After one day break in Kodinar, the torrential downpour rained down on Rajula’s Hindorna bridge for 8th time in a row.

In Gir Somnath, More than 2.5 inches of rain was received in Kodinar city and rural area by 2 pm.

Heavy rains are expected in Gujarat near Ahmedabad tomorrow.
