In a major reshuffle in BCCI Board Of Control For Cricket In India, Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is new BCCI President. Jay Shah son of former BJP President Amit Shah and union home minister GCA Gujarat Cricket Association secretary is appointed as new Secretary while Arun Dhumal is set to take over as the treasurer of BCCI.
Ganguly, who led India to the 2003 World Cup final and is celebrated as one of the most accomplished captains of the Indian cricket team, is likely to get elected unopposed for the top job. Ganguly is expected to file his nomination today and he is also likely to be the only candidate and to get elected unopposed.
