Actress Soha Ali Khan tied the knot with longtime partner Kunal Khemu in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai yesterday.Soha chose to keep it minimal on her D-day as she donned an off-white lehenga-choli set teamed with an orange dupatta and a traditional passa tikka adorning her head. Kunal Khemu, looked regal in a white-gold sherwani and a silk safa during the registry marriage, which was attended by close family members including Soha’s mother Sharmila Tagore, brother Saif Ali Khan, sister Saba and sister-in-law Kareena Kapoor Khan, who donned a pink Manish Malhotra saree. Cute couple away from the prying eyes of the media and in the presence of loved ones got married. The couple happily posed for shutterbugs as soon as the vows were taken.
Saif maintained his nawabi look in a pure white achkan and churidaar as he attended to the guests at the ceremony. It was a private affair mostly because the bride believed in keeping things simple and reportedly said marriage was more important than the wedding day. White seemed to be the favourite colour of the day as Sharmila, opted for a traditional Assamese garb mekhela chador in the pale shade. Soha’s mehendi ceremony, which took place on Friday, was attended by her family and B-Town celebs like Neha Dhupia, Salman Khan’s sister Arpita among others. Meanwhile, along with a cute message “I married my best friend today”, Soha posted a photo of her and Kunal on Twitter. In other news, apart from the quiet wedding, the reception too isn’t going to be a starry affair and will be flocked by some near and dear ones. Unfortunately, the two will not be off to honeymoon anytime soon as Soha is schedule to begin “Ghayal 2″ from 2 February. We’ll plan something fun when the weather in Europe is better, perhaps in summer,” she informed.
