The second wave of Corona hit Gujarat for more than two consecutive months. In the second wave, many people lost their lives and some barely escaped. The state will begin partial unlocking from today amid declining corona cases. Also, the fifth phase of the curfew will begin tonight. As per the decision taken by the state government, the shops will be open from 9 am to 3 pm. This decision will be effective till May 27 and on the 28th the state government will reconsider the concession and make a new decision.
Announcing this at Pipavav, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that the decision has been taken in view of the situation of small and big hawkers and traders involved in the business. Although they have emphasized adherence to the rules and strict adherence to rules like mandatory masks, social distance and sanitation, action will be taken if these rules are found to be violated.
Importantly, night curfew will remain in place in 36 cities, including 8 municipal corporations in Gujarat. So the traders have welcomed the decision of state government in this regard and traders have expressed hope to state government to get more concessions in the coming days. According to a press release issued by state government, Chief Minister Rupani has decided to extend additional limited restrictions, including night curfew, in six cities in the state in line with Indian Home Ministry’s guidelines for controlling the transmission of corona. He said that cases of Corona have not increased in Gujarat but considering the prevalence of Corona transmission across the country, Gujarat government has decided to keep all the citizens of state safe and secure night curfew and additional limited restrictions for 2 more days and relax some restrictions.
In these 36 cities from 21st May to 20th. The state government has issued orders to continue essential services / activities during the period till 28th May, 2021. The service directly associated with the operation of COVID-19 as well as the services associated with the essential / immediate service will continue. Medical, paramedical and allied health services, oxygen production and distribution system will continue.
