Today, Union I&B Minister Arun Jaitley conferrred Dadasaheb Phalke Award on Veteran Bollywood Actor Shashi Kapoor.Shashi Kapoor is the third member of his family to have received the prestigious award.
The entire Kapoor family is present in attendance the ceremony besides several celebrities like Asha Parekh, Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Hema Mailini, Zennat Aman, Asha Bhosle and others from the film industry.
Born in 1938, Kapoor hit the spotlight from the age of four acting in plays directed and produced by his father, while travelling with Prithvi Theatre. Due to Shashi Kapoor’s ill health the award ceremony was held in Mumbai.
