Gujarat’s renowned poet & humourist Shahbuddin Rathod and 10 others bag Sangeet Natak Akademy Gaurav Puraskar for year 2014-15. Atul Purohit is also in the list of nominees announced for by Gujarat government for the same. The award is announced for the field of theater, music, dance and folk art. Each awardee will be presented Rs 51,000 cash prize, shawl and a citation.
Shri Rathod, Baldevbhai Dalsukhbhai Nayak and Raghuvir Narhardan Kunchala will be awarded for their contribution to the field of folk art. Dr Hema Kapildev Shukla, Shri Vijang Maheta and Smt Aditi Desai are to be awarded for their contribution to theater. Hemant Pannalal Gandharva, Shambhu Mehta and Atul Purohit are to be awarded for their contribution to the field of music. Dr Nikhil Bhatt, Hemadri Udayan and Rucha Bhatt are selected for as the field of dance.
