There is a forecast of severe cyclonic storm Maha, to hit landfall along Gujarat coast between Dwarka and Diu on the night of November 6, bringing heavy to very heavy rains till the next day. As per IMD India Meteorological Department source It is likely to intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm in the next 6 hours before making landfall. The cyclonic storm Maha lay centered at 580 kilometres southwest of Diu and 550 kms southwest of Veraval.
Severe cyclonic storm likely to hit between Dwarka and Diu near Porbandar on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning with wind speeds of 120 kilometres per hour. Alert has been sounded by state adminstration.
DIu Collector ordered tourists to evacuate Diu and sea coast in wake of severe storm.Eight shelter homes have been evacuated and affected people are advised to move to safer places.
