Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has announced that her government will give benefit of seventh pay commission to State government employees with effecr from 1st August 2016. With Seventh pay implementation 4.65 lakhs state government employees and 4.12 lakhs pensioners will be benefitted. CM decided to accept the recommendations of seventh pay commission as declared by central government.
Gujarat government had earlier said it would incur an extra burden of Rs 6000 crores per annum if Seventh Pay Commission is implemented. However state employees union sought immediate implementation of the award.The Union Cabinet had earlier accepted the recommendations of panel headed by Justice A K Mathur headed, which would benefit around 1 crore government employees and pensioners across country.
