Ahmedabad, 10thMarch, 2025: Navgujarat Central Library and CC Sheth College of Commerce successfully hosted a seminar on ‘Career Building with Bachelor Studies in UPSC and GPSC’ recently. The seminar which was held at the Central Library, saw enthusiastic participation from some 50 students from across the university.

The idea behind organising the event was to equip students with crucial insights into government examinations of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC). Students received guidance about the eligibility criteria, syllabus, and effective preparation strategies.

The session commenced with an inaugural address by Dr Salman Sheikh, Professor at CC Sheth College of Commerce. He spoke about the significance of government services as a viable career path. He elaborated on the advantages of securing a position in the public sector and the structured approach required to excel in UPSC and GPSC examinations.
The keynote speaker, Mr Hari Barot, a seasoned mentor from Chahal Academy, provided an in-depth analysis of the examination pattern and key preparation techniques. His session covered future opportunities in government services, enabling students to develop a strategic approach towards their aspirations.
Students are actively engaged with the speakers, raising relevant queries about the syllabus requirements, preparation methodologies, and long-term career prospects in government services. Their enthusiasm and keen interest reflected the growing aspiration among young minds to contribute to the administrative framework of the nation.
Dr Chetna Shah, Librarian at Navgujarat Central Library, concluded the session with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the speakers and coordinators.
