As per studies in over 2 decades along Gujarat Coast due to the effects of coastline erosion as a result of rising sea-level risen. Particularly in South Gujarat starting from Bharuch followed by Surat, Navsari and Valsad effect of rising of sea level was observed. In Bharuch it is 1 km, in Surat 10 kms, Navsari 20 kms and in Valsad 13 kms.
Two major mechanisms are causing sea level to rise. Second, as ocean temperatures rise, the warmer water expands which could be attributed to a side effect of global warming experienced observed in a longer run.
Today on World Environment Day, we need to delibrate on alarms sent by Global Warming on Rising sea level along Gujarat coastline, as per reports.
