Today evening in Ahmedabad city in Kalupur, Paldi, Satellite, Vejalpur and Bhimjipura areas people were seen rushing to buy essential things to buy during lockdown situation and violated all norms of social distancing in panic.
Rush of people started out of panic after AMC notification of strict lockdown from 7th May to 15th May by AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mukesh Kumar. Only milk and medicine shops to remain effective from tomorrow.
Decision of strict lockdown implementation was taken based on a meeting by state chief secretary at Riverfront. As per latest figures there are 4735 Covid-19 cases in Ahmedabad alone out of total 6625 cases in Gujarat.
People feel that sudden strict imposition of lockdown by closing essential goods shops, vegetable and fruits shops in a short notice was unplanned decision by AMC.
4 BSF Border Security Force and 1 RAF Rapid Action Force teams were deployed in Ahmedabad to impose strict lockdown.
