Today Gujarat Government has taken a sensitive decision for employees of GSRTC, If staff of GSRTC dies while in service, his family will be given assistance of Rs. 14 lakhs. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Minister of State for Transport Harsh Sanghvi’s sensitive decision for ST employees . CM Patel and State Transport Minister Harsh Sanghvi has taken a sensitive decision for staff of ST Corporation, under which if an ST employee dies during service, his family will be given assistance of Rs. 14 lakhs, as stated in the list of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation. It further stated in the list, staff of ST Corporation are always performing duty without taking any Holiday.
Before this assistance, dependent family of Class-3 and Class-4 permanent staff of ST Corporation who died in service was paid a lump sum of Rs. 4 lakhs, Rs. 5 lakhs and Rs. 6 lakhs, taking into account the remaining period of service of the employee. Apart from this, a lump sum of Rs. 4 lakh was paid to the dependent family of Class-3 and Class-4 employees who died in service of ST Corporation on a 5-years fixed salary contract.
With this decision of the State Government, in case of death of Class-3 and Class-4 staff appointed through the regular recruitment process on or after 24 September 2022 during the current service, a maximum financial assistance of Rs. 14 lakhs will be paid to the dependent family of the deceased staff. In addition, a maximum financial assistance of Rs. 14 lakhs will be paid to the dependent family of the deceased employees of Class-3 and Class-4 of five-year fixed salary contractual service appointed in various offices. It is worth mentioning that the dependent families of 153 staff of Class-3 and Class-4 employees appointed through the regular recruitment process of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation and employees appointed in 5-years fixed contractual service who died during the current service on or after 12 October 2023 will be provided assistance of more than Rs 21 crores by State Government. According to the old scheme, state government has provided assistance of Rs 5.32 crores to the dependent families of 124 employees and the remaining assistance will be provided shortly.
