Red Alert issued in Gujarat for 3 days

Heatwave forecast has been made by national weather agency India Meteorological Department as heatwave rages in Gujarat due to which Red Alert has been issued in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Morbi, Rajkot, Surat, Kutch, Surendranagar districts in the state on Tuesday.IMD has issued Yellow Alert in several districts for 3 days, temperature will cross 40 degrees Celsius. Yellow alert in Banaskantha, Kutch, Morbi, Surendranagar, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli and Surat on 11th March. Yellow Alert given  in Banaskantha, Kutch, Surendranagar and Rajkot in the state on 12th March, the temperature is likely to go above 40 degrees celsius.

AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s action plan to combat Heat ave is ready. Green nets, coolers, and fans will be provided at major bus depots. Traffic signals will be closed from 11 am to 5 pm. 50 water tanks will be prepared in all zones of the city. School timings will also change during Red Alert. Public Gardens will remain open from 6 am to 11 pm.
