Subsequent to fire mishap at TRP Game Zone of Rajkot which claimed 28 lives, authorities have swung into action and arrested four officials of Rajkot municipality and fire safety department. Three officers from Rajkot town planning office, including MD Sagathiya, have been arrested post the tragedy. Moreover, fire officer Rohit Vegora was also arrested by Rajkot police in connection with the case.
These arrests add to the previous four accused arrested in the case: Dhaval Thakkar, Yuvrajsinh Solanki, Nitin Jain, and Rahul Rathod. The investigations revealed that TRP game zone had been operating illegally in a residential area for last 4 years without necessary NOC No Objection Certificate. The amusement park was set up in a unstable shed-like structure to bypass mandatory approvals, as per sources.
