In Gondal sub jail, news of death of loot convict Sagar Rathod has created sensation. Rathod was in jail for 1 and half months. Family of Rathod blames jailor over severely beating him and forcefully giving him poisonous medicine. Rathod was convicted in loot charges. Yesterday, Rathod died of consuming poisonous medicine. 7 convicts of sub jail were to be taken out for recording their statements, out of which 6 came down except Rathod. Therefore, jail staff checked for Rathod, who was found to have consumed poison. Doctor of the jail advised Rathod to take to Rajkot Civil Hospital where he died. He was admitted to emergency ward where he died after some treatment. Mother Savitaben Rathod blamed jailor of having give poison to him. She added that why he will consume poison when he was to be released on bail. Death of convict Sagar Rathod in suspicious manner raises many questions. Further details could be known only after post-mortem or forensic report.
