With Patidars announcing protest during upcoming ODI at Rajkot between India and South Africa Rajkot on Oct 18. Sale of tickets has begun amid high security arrangements. Cricket fans and buyers queued up before Saurashtra Cricket Association since monday midnight to lay their hands on the tickets. Cricket board and the government have taken measures of security to avoid any untoward incident during the ODI inside the ground.As per reports tickets were only sold for the match after ID card verification. Only one ticket per head will be given and every buyer’s live image will be captured by a web camera and uploaded into the system. The Patidar community members headed by SPG’s Lalji Patel and PAAS’s Hardik Patel had earlier told the media that they will protest during the ODI between India and South Africa by wearing specialised T-shirts inside the stands to get global attention. Rajkot cricket has the capacity to hold 28,000 spectators at a time and Hardik had pronounced that around 18,000 Patidar members will be present to witness the match and at the same time silently protest on OBC Quota demand from government.
Sales of ticket have started from 11:00 hours.
