Rajkot: 3 girls died in big fire at Pranshala Training Shibir at Upleta

Yesterday in Rajkot, 3 girls died in a big fire which engulfed Pranshala Training Shibir at Upleta. 3 others are said to be serious.

In Upelta at Shibir, there are 50 to 60 tents which caught fire in the evening. At 11 pm yesterday, fire spread in tents in 3 to 5 minutes of time. All the girls in Shibir started running out of panic. By breaking tent walls, most girls were rescued.

15 girls who were injured in the tragedy is being treated in Upleta Hospital.

In afternoon, girls received training from Army Officials on how to rescue them selves and escape from such situations of emergency. The same incident, happened to them after 10 hours of training to them.

About 300 girls were rescued from fire incident.

Gujarat government has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakhs to family of victim girls. Gujarat CM has instructed Collector probe in the incident.
