As per forecast of IMD India Meteorological Department, heavy rain is predicted today in Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Dadranagar Haveli, Narmada, Bharuch, Anand, Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, Bhavnagar, Girsomnath, Junagadh and Botad.
Rainy conditions will prevail for five days. South Gujarat and Saurashtra received heavy rain in 24 hours in the state. According to rainfall statistics announced by SEOC State Emergency Operation Center Gandhinagar, from 6 am Thursday to 6 am Friday, it rained in 117 talukas of the state in 24 hours. Surat and Valsad districts received the highest rainfall. Two inches to three and half inches of rain recorded in some parts. 1 to 2 inches of rain fell in 18 talukas in just 24 hours.
