Today, Rahul Gandhi Congress Vice President appeared in a court at Bhiwandi ,Thane due to a criminal defamation case for allegedly blaming RSS for assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, though the Supreme Court had on Thursday stayed proceedings against him in the matter. Rahul Gandhi presented himself before Magistrate DP Kale in line with the commitment given by his counsel on 30 March. The court kept hearing of the case on 30 September.
Rahul, who spent less than 15 minutes in court, told media that he had come to honour the commitment given to the court.
