Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, who has already made inroads into foreign shores with her music, has signed a one-year TV development deal with US-based ABC Television Studios. “A new step… An evolution of my creative self…yikes… Here we go,” Priyanka Chopra tweeted. As part of the deal, the studio will develop a vehicle starring Priyanka or cast her in an existing project, targeted for fall 2015. With this move, the Bollywood actress joins the ranks of international TV sensations Kerry Washington (Scandal), Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) and Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy) during America’s Golden Age. ABC’s executive vice president of casting, Keli Lee, spearheaded the deal and travelled to Mumbai to personally sign Priyanka.The 32-year-old National Award winning actress, known for Hindi blockbusters such as “Krrish 3” and “Barfi!”, is to topline an ABC series developed for her or star in an existing project targeted for next fall, according to sources.On the home-ground, she is also set to turn a producer with “Madamji”, to be helmed by National Award-winning director Madhur Bhandarkar.
