President’s Rule in Maharashtra as parties fail to form government

Today in Maharashtra, Leaders of Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) held a joint meeting today in Mumbai. President’s Rule has been imposed in the state of Maharashtra.

Post assembly election for 288 seats in Mahrashtra and BJP enjoying lead with 105 seats against 56 seats of Sena, 54 seats of NCP, 44 seats of Congress and 17 others.

Maharashtra governor invited BJP to form government during 48 hours which was turned down by BJP.

The Union Cabinet on Tuesday recommended President’s rule in Maharashtra where no political party has been able to form a government after the assembly polls last month.
