As the countdown of upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled in early 2019 has already began. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Gujarat on August 23. His earlier scheduled visit on July 20 had been cancelled due to heavy rain in Valsad and Junagadh, which he was supposed to visit.
During his visit, the PM Modi is expected to hold meetings with top BJP leaders in state. He is also expected to visit the state on his birthday in September and once or twice in October. Many in the political circle believe Modi’s visit as an indication of early elections as he is known to go among the masses and judge the mood of the people before elections.
Chief secretary, J N Singh, confirmed the development and said, “PM Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on August 23. He will dedicate housing constructed under Pradhan Mantri Avas Yojana at Valsad in a public function.”
