Ahmedabad, August 07, 2021: Renowned singer, actor & music therapist, Dr.Parth Oza, is now the ambassador of Visamo Kids, a non-government organisation based in Ahmedabad. The announcement was made at a Thanksgiving Event of Visamo Kids for affiliate schools held in Ahmedabad on Saturday. The ceremony was organised at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) in presence of Dr.Rajendra Khimani, vice chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith as the chief guest, in addition to guests of honour including Mr Prasun Kundu, the author of Corporate Bhagwad Gita; Ms Sandhya Kundu, a corporate trainer and ShriAmit Thaker, an educationist.
Speaking on the affiliation, Dr.Parth Oza said, “Education as a cause has remained close to my heart. Even though I went on to pursue my passion for singing, there has always been greater emphasis on completing my schooling and graduation in my family.”
Dr.Parth Oza himself pursued higher education in medicine and became a doctor, prior to pursuing his passion.
“It is indeed heart-warming to see the efforts of Kalorex Group-run Visamo Kids being instrumental in helping realise dreams of hundreds of children,” he further went on to say.
Dr.Rajendra Khimani, Vice Chancellor, Gujarat Vidyapith commended the efforts of Visamo Kids in using education as a tool to uplift and enrich the lives of under privileged children. He emphasised on the importance of Gandhian philosophy, saying that when we think of the upliftment of underprivileged children, we seek to bring them out of their situation, their environment and their community. However, we should look at empowering under privileged children with education and encourage them to go back and in turn to uplift their communities.
Established in 2002 under the able mentorship of edupreneur Dr.Manjula Pooja Shroff, Visamo Kids is a shelter home in Ahmedabad that houses at least 100 under privileged kids right from the age of five, enabling their access to quality education in partnership with the finest English Medium schools in the city. These kids stay at Visamo and complete schooling from Class I till Class XII, attending schools under CBSE, ICSE and GSEB. It is affiliated with some 22 schools across Ahmedabad, as part of which it continues its efforts of providing education to underprivileged children. This is for the first time that the school is felicitating efforts of various schools, who provide free education to the children of Visamo Kids.
In fact, some of the schools were involved in giving education to children way before the Right To Education (RTE) Act came into being. The schools not just waive off education cost but some also help provide books, stationery, uniform and transportation for free. So far, some 144 students have passed out with the efforts of Visamo Kids.
