Narendra Modi’s swearing in ceremony is scheduled on May 26, evening at 6.00 pm.
BJP’s has prepared a list of 3000 invitees, including Prime Ministers and Presidents of world nations and representatives from SAAC countries. Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was also sent invitation to attend Narendre Modi’s oath ceremony. For couple of days, suspense was maintained over Sharif attending Modi’s ceremony.
Mohyuddin Wani, the joint secretary of the Pakistani Prime Minister’s office, informed that Pakistan had accepted India’s invitation to Sharif to attend Modi’s swearing-in with other South Asian leaders.
Pakistani premier’s attendance will be a first in the history of the nuclear-armed rivals. Bilateral relations between two neigbouring countries India and Pakistan were tense since 2008 Mumbai attacks blamed on Pakistan-based militants but Sharif has said he wants to improve relations with India.
