Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has taken some important decisions on education in a high level meeting with concern over health and future of students of state in context of increasing Corona transition
These decisions have been taken in an urgent meeting of the Minister of Education Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Minister of State Vibhavari Dave, Chief Secretary Anil Mukim as well as Principal Secretary for Education.
Education Minister Chudasama gave detailed information about these decisions.
Regarding these decisions, the Education Minister said that keeping in view the situation of Coronavirus in state, as a precautionary measure, in all the eight Municipal Corporations i.e. Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh and Gandhinagar in all primary, secondary and higher secondary schools from 19th March-21 Friday, offline education will be discontinued.
Online education-home-learning will be provided in the schools of these eight municipal areas as well as the first examination will be taken online in the secondary and higher secondary schools.
Bhupendrasinh Chudasama also said that it has been decided to close offline education in these eight metros till April 10, 2012.
.Online examinations will be conducted in primary schools as per the existing schedule.
The Minister of Education has clearly stated that direct education work will continue for the students who will come to secondary and higher secondary schools voluntarily in all the other areas except these eight Municipal Corporations.
Not only that, the first examination will be conducted offline from March 17 to March 28 as per its schedule. The current online home-learning education will continue.
Minister Chudasama said that it has been decided in this meeting that online / offline examinations will be conducted in the primary schools of the areas other than eight municipal areas as per the existing system and schedule as well as the existing system of direct education for voluntary students will remain the same.
Regarding the decisions taken in this meeting chaired by the Chief Minister for colleges and universities of Gujarat, he said that the offline examination of the graduate-graduate level scheduled from Friday, March 19, 2018 to Friday, April 10 has been postponed. Universities will announce a new timetable for these examinations.
The Education Minister added that all education will be provided online till April 10. The university hostel will continue and students will be able to get education by staying in their hostel room.
All the practicals of postgraduate- under graduate examinations, offline classes and Post Graduation will continue in state universities.
Shribhupendrasinh Chudasama added that the decision would apply to all public and private universities in the state.
