Today Union HRD minister Smriti Irani was in Surat on BJP Foundation Day. Smriti attended a Press Meet along with BJP Gujarat President Vijay Rupani and others.
While talking to media on recent issue of NIT Nationational Intsitute of Technology at Srinagar of J&K, no injustice will be done to NIT students. However, law and order is a state purview but I assure our officials will be available throughout the exams, said Smriti. Mehbooba Mufti has assured us that there will be no injustice.
NIT Srinagar is closed from March 31, 2016. NIT Srinagar students write to HRD Minister Smriti Irani. NIT administration has held meeting with NIT students to resolve the issue. Students of different colleges protest over NIT issue. There are allegations of J & K Police beating Non Kashmiri Students in NIT Srinagar. CRPF has been deployed at Srinagar.
